What does campaign bring to mind?
A military campaign, where one sovereign nation pits its will against another in a battle to win territory?
Maybe it’s a political campaign, where parties conduct a proxy war through individual candidates in a clash over ideology?
Or possibly an ad campaign where a company uses its brand to engage an audience?
Campaigns can bring to mind many examples, but it’s the organized action to achieve a result that’s important.
With that said, you might be asking, “why are you engaging in a campaign?” “What result are you trying to achieve?”
My stated goal is simple: mention Charles Hoskinson in a tweet every day until I provoke a response.
In some ways, it legitimizes my participation in the latest technological disruptions — one that I believe will have historic relevance. By provoking Charles Hoskinson to like one of my tweets that mentions him, I am digitally connecting myself to the co-founder of Ethereum and the founder of Cardano. Not bad.
However, if Charles simply likes one of my mentions in the next couple of weeks, this campaign likely falls short of what I hope will be a lighthearted strategy for pulling larger groups of people into the Cardano community.
This story follows the hero’s arc. An unknown underdog trying to achieve a result against many obstacles. With a small likelihood of succeeding.
Over time, I hope this journey will follow the hero’s arc. I hope my persistence will garner some attention and as more people participate in helping me achieve my stated goal. The result is a stronger more robust Cardano community.
Cardano resonates with me. It aims to be the most decentralized platform with distributed governance. It’s authority without sovereignty.
It has the potential to free the human spirit in ways and places that we can only imagine. I am sure that there will be some perils along the way, but the decentralized platform puts control in the hands of those willing to participate.
Yes, I want Charles to like one of my tweets with a mention. But more than that, I want to contribute to the Cardano community in a way that engages people and draws them to the platform.
So, until Charles likes a tweet, or we’ve grown the Cardano audience, I will continue to send out a tweet mentioning @IOHK_Charles, whichever comes first.
Until then, the campaign continues….
